Overview
Sky Investment Counsel, Inc. (Sky) specializes in the
management of EAFE (Europe, Australasia and Far East) equities. Sky was founded in
2004 by Jenny Witterick, President and CEO. Partnering in Sky's founding were
Phillips, Hager & North Investment Managent Ltd. (PH&N) and Foyston, Gordon &
Payne Inc. (FG&P). Prior to founding Sky Investment Counsel, Jenny spent 12
years with FG&P as a partner and was the sole manager for International Equities.
Philosophy
Sky Investment Counsel's investment philosophy is based on a
conservative, low-risk approach that is designed to take advantage of opportunities that
meet their strict value and quality criteria. Their fundamental process is focused
on investing in companies that are selling at depressed valuations yet still maintain
sound financials and market positions. The firm emphasizes analyzing companies whose
share prices are out of favour and therefore they believe offer superior long-term returns
relative to their peers.
